How to use a pulsed electroplating power supply

With the development of surface treatment industry products towards high quality and high performance, and with the development of electronics industry putting forward higher requirements for coating quality, pulse plating technology has emerged and rapidly developed.

I. Distance between pulse plating power supply and plating tank

To ensure that the pulse current waveform is not distorted when introduced into the plating tank, and the attenuation is small, it is hoped that the distance between the pulse plating power supply and the plating tank should be 2-3m during installation. Otherwise, it will have a great impact on the trailing edge (falling edge) of the pulse current waveform, and the plating will not achieve the expected effect.

II. Connection method of cathode and anode

The wiring method of DC power supply is not suitable for the connection of pulse power supply. For the output connection of pulse plating power supply, it is hoped that the inter-electrode capacitance of the two wires can offset the transmission inductance effect of the wires. Therefore, the cathode and anode wires The method is to twist the two wires together and then lead them to the edge of the plating tank, so as to keep the pulse waveform unchanged.

   III. Selection of wires

1 Because it is a pulse power supply, in order to avoid the skin effect, when selecting wires, multi-core wires should be selected as the connection wires from the pulse power supply to the plating tank. The multi-core wires are braided, and the inter-wire capacitance can offset its inductance effect.

2 The specification of the wire must meet its rated current. Because the current density of the pulse current is much larger than the average current density, it is necessary to consider the ability to withstand the current heat effect generated by the pulse power supply current to ensure that the attenuation from the pulse power supply to the plating tank is small.

Example: Pulse current is 1000A The duty cycle is 60%, obviously its average current is 600A, and the rated current is: (1000 × 60%) × 1.3 ≈ 780A. When selecting wires, the rated value should select wires ≥ 800A.

Pulse plating is a method in which the plating circuit is periodically switched on and off, or a certain waveform pulse is superimposed on a fixed DC. Compared with ordinary plating, this method has the advantages of smooth and dense coating, good adhesion, high current efficiency, and good environmental protection performance.

The Future of Electrical Equipment Manufacturing: Technological Innovation in High-Frequency Switching Power Supplies

The Future of Electrical Equipment Manufacturing: Technological Innovation in High-Frequency Switching Power Supplies In today's rapidly developing era, the electrical equipment manufacturing industry is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. In particular, technological innovation in high-frequency switching power supplies is bringing new vitality to this industry. So, what is a high-frequency switching power supply? And how does it drive the future of the electrical equipment manufacturing industry? Basic Concept of High-Frequency Switching Power Supply Simply put, a high-frequency switching power supply is a device that controls energy conversion through high-frequency switching technology. Imagine a faucet; different water pressures and flow rates determine the amount of water supplied. A high-frequency switching power supply is like this faucet, precisely controlling the output of electrical energy. They are widely used in communications, industrial control, medical equipment, and other fields. Technological Innovation in High-Frequency Switching Power Supplies In recent years, the technology of high-frequency switching power supplies has been constantly innovating. First, the improvement in efficiency is obvious. Imagine you are cooking in the kitchen; if the thermal efficiency of the gas stove is improved, you can not only save gas but also shorten the cooking time. This is equally important for high-frequency switching power supplies. By adopting more efficient conversion technologies, manufacturers can not only reduce energy consumption but also reduce the heat generated by the equipment, improving overall performance. Furthermore, the size reduction is also significant.
